DEAD RECKONING PART 1 Eight days after parole, petty criminal Leonard Weinstein is found dead in Gotham's East End, his corpse wearing a Killer Moth costume. Eyewitness testimony from a man named Charlie Tann confirms the death was murder, while further testimony from Weinstein's girlfriend confirms the motives: Weinstein had meant to take a "big-league" contract with the costume, only to be killed by someone with a grudge against the original Killer Moth. However, the case is complicated by its most prominent piece of evidence: a coin found near the scene, marred on both sides in an apparent reference to Two-Face. Batman soon deems the coin an impostor's work (the real Two-Face having been in custody for months), but interrogation of Weinstein's former associates reveals yet another twist: Weinstein's potential contractor had been Tann himself. By the time Batman returns to Tann's home, Tann is gone; too late, Batman realizes the "name" was only a play on the term charlatan. Meanwhile, the Penguin and the Riddler raise their own concerns over Weinstein's murder - especially when another double-marred coin is delivered to the Iceberg Lounge. SPORE PART 2 After his infection, Batman immediately quarantines himself inside the Batcave and begins developing a cure - specifically, a microscopic droid dubbed the Nanobat. Once perfected, the Nanobat is immediately injected into its creator's bloodstream - right as the mutation begins intensifying.
